HONEY BANE you can be you

Crass Records 521985/1

Recorded at Southern Studios 27/10/79 and released on Jan 19th 1980.  Designed at Existencil Press. “Early releases on the label were promising. Honey Bane’s EP You Can BeYou featured ‘Girl On The Run’ and was recorded when she really was on the run.”

“We were making money – appar- ently for tax reasons you needed to get rid of it, put it into things so you don’t have to pay the taxman. It was as bitchy as that. So we bought a new van and new gear.” “I think it was just a way of giving people like Honey (Bane) a hand ,” says Steve.“It didn’t cost much in those days, and you were pretty certain that if it had that logo (records on Crass Records all looked the same) on the front, people were going to buy it. And it worked.”
